Ever since I hit the legal age to work in Canada, I have been trying to find a job.
It was harder then I expected it to be for the past year I've dropped of my resume at multiple stores close by because my parents wouldn't let me work anywhere that wasn't in walking distance. Which didn't really give me many options.
Many stores say you have to be a certain age to work at them so it really limited where I could work to only a couple places near by. So I applied to all of them but one, because my good friend Blake was just hired at Fireside and told me there was no other available positions so I was incredibly pissed off.
But one night around 11:45 pm, Blake phones me and says he set up an interview for me, because luckily, somebody was just fired. I went in and did the interview and was told to come in the next day for training.
This was the most amazing thing, I couldn't believe that I got the position at Fireside.
I was finally doing something productive in my life. Having a job was a major jump-start for the betterment of my character I now have the ability to stop relying on my family to pay for the things I want for example to have a phone you also have to pay for the bill which I can do now with this job.
But with this job I have now comes responsibility to show up every time its my shift and to up hold my dedication to the job/career that was provided for me .With this new job it will open up many doors for me in the future and give me more experience for when I finish school.
Their's a world of sources for character out there and you just need to find them. Having a job is a great start to finding out who you really are and what you could be.
